"The New Colossus" was written in 1883 by American poet Emma Lazarus and is one of her most well-known works. The poem was inscribed on a bronze plaque and mounted on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty in 1903. It has since become an emblem of American immigration and the ideals of freedom and opportunity. 

The poem portrays the Statue of Liberty as the "Mother of Exiles", welcoming immigrants from around the world to America's shores with a message of hope and freedom.

To retain the characteristic look of your leather band for years to come, we recommend following these care instructions:

• Keep your watch band away from moisture and humid environments. In case the leather accidentally gets wet, remove the band from the Apple Watch and clean the surface with a soft, dry cloth.
  
• Even though your leather band resists everyday perspiration, we recommend changing it for a dedicated sports band, when engaging in sporting activities.
  
• Remove your band from the Apple Watch case at least once a month to clean the adapters and the bandslot, especially after it gets wet.
